Back in 1932 it would have cost you just 25 cents to buy the pulp magazine Weird Tales, which contained the first Conan story, so it is only fitting that Dark Horse will launch its first Conan comic book series in November with a 25-cent Conan the Legend #0.  The special issue includes a 16-page prelude story introducing readers to the sprawling, lusty legend of Robert E. Howard's sword-wielding Cimmerian.  In addition to establishing characters and situations that are key to the series with its prelude story, Conan the Legend #0 also includes a sketchbook gallery from artist Cary Nord and a short interview with writer Kurt Busiek.

While the long-awaited Conan the King movie remains on the backburner while Arnold pursues his political career, the Conan property has been enjoying something of a renaissance since it was acquired by the Swedish company Paradox Entertainment (see 'Conan Has A New Owner').  In addition to the Conan comic series, Dark Horse is producing a series of Conan busts (see 'Dark Horse Announces Conan Busts'), Mongoose is publishing a Conan RPG (see 'Mongoose To Publish Conan RPG'), and Rittenhouse has acquired the rights to create Conan trading cards (see 'Rittenhouse Gets Conan License').
