Hasbro, Inc. has demanded that David Chang, manufacturer of the board game Ghettopoly, immediately stop selling the game to retailers worldwide.  Hasbro's President, Frank Bifulco, quoted in the company's press release, didn't mince his words: 'We want to make it clear that Hasbro has absolutely no connection to the reprehensible Ghettopoly game.  Mr. Chang's game violates our Monopoly game intellectual property rights and Hasbro plans to bring suit against Mr. Chang if he does not immediately stop selling the game.'

The Ghettopoly board game, which has aroused the ire of black religious and political leaders, comes with 'crack houses' and 'projects' instead of the houses and hotels of the conventional Monopoly game, and 'hustle' and 'stash' cards rather than Chance and Community Chest.  References to drugs and crime abound in Ghettopoly, which Hasbro characterized as 'highly offensive.'
