Fleer plans to release additional trading card products based on two successful licensed properties -- Transformers and American Idol.  American Idol Trading Cards will be released May 26th, and in addition to a set featuring third season contestants, will also include contestant signature cards.  According to Fleer, the American Idol Collectible Card Game has been selling about twice as well as expected in mass market outlets since it was released about a month ago.  The game was designed by James (Cheapass Games) Earnest, among others, and despite the name, the American Idol Collectible Card Game is a single box of 110 cards that is a complete game.  Both the Fleer game and trading cards will include overnight sensation William (She Bangs) Hung.

For Transformers, Fleer plans to continue to release themed trading card sets, following its release of Transformers Armada last year.  Transformers Generation One is planned for April or May release, with approximately a 200-card base set.  Transformers Energon is scheduled for June release, with approximately a 100-card base set.  Both will include 'flapper' cards as inserts.
