Sales on Days of Wonder's Ticket to Ride boardgame have hit the 250,000 mark, according to an announcement by the company.  It was launched in March of this year, and is now being sold in six languages in thirty countries.

In May, in an article in the New York Times, Days of Wonder revealed that it was going back to press for a second printing of another 10,000 copies (see 'Ticket To Ride Makes New York Times'), so sales have definitely picked up rapidly since then.

Part of the reason for Ticket to Ride's success is press coverage.  In addition to the New York Times article mentioned above, the game was also picked as a 'toy of the year' by the mega-circulation Family Fun magazine (see 'Family Fun Picks Ticket to Ride').

And the game received what is arguably the most important game award in the world when it was awarded the prestigious Spiel des Jahres award (Game of the Year, see 'Days of Wonder Wins Top German Award').
