Rob Zombie's The Devil's Rejects opens this weekend on 2,000 screens, after advance screenings in San Diego last weekend and at CineVegas last month. The Zombie film to which this is sequel, House of 1000 Corpses, only hit 847 theaters at its peak, so The Devil's Rejects is getting much wider play.
The film is spawning merchandise tie-ins in the form of toys from NECA (see 'NECA Gets 'House of 1000 Corpses' License'), and a one-shot comic from IDW. The comic ($3.99), which will be released next month, will include three stories written by Zombie about characters from the movie, Captain Spaulding, Otis, and Baby, with art by David Hartman, Mike Lopez, and Nick Stakal.
