The Anime News Network is reporting that Right Stuf International's Kris Kleckner has announced the release of two groundbreaking anime series by Japan's 'God of Manga, ' Osamu Tezuka.  Tezuka's Kimba the White Lion (aka The Jungle Emperor) is set for release this November either in an eleven-DVD or six-DVD set, depending on whether Right Stuf decides to use high capacity or regular DVDs.

Kimba is widely regarded to have been an inspiration for Disney's The Lion King, which remains the best-selling video release in history.  Rhino Home Video has issued the first 26 episodes of the 52-episode Kimba series in an English dub-only version, but The Right Stuf's Kimba Collection will include all the available episodes and a Japanese version of the first episode.  Kimba, which was partially financed by NBC, was one of the first anime series produced in color.

Right Stuf plans to issue Tezuka's Astro Boy in 2006.  No word yet on how many of the 193 episodes of this groundbreaking series from 1966 will be available -- 104 episodes were shown in the U.S.  Anchor Bay has announced that it will be releasing the 52-episode 1980 color Astro Boy series, which was supervised by Tezuka, in November.
