Dakota Fanning, the postmodern Shirley Temple who starred in War of the Worlds and Dreamer (the #2 film at the box office last weekend), will voice the lead character in a stop-motion animated version of Neil Gaiman's Coraline. Henry Selick, who directed The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach, is writing and directing the adaptation of Gaiman's children's novel, which sold over 130,000 copies in hardcover (see 'Coraline Movie Set').
