Bandai is planning a limited North American theatrical release of the Escaflowne feature film -- Escaflowne: A Girl in Gaea -- in January. A release in five cities is planned at this point: Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and Vancouver. Retailers in those cities (or where consumers are exposed to the p.r. related to that release) can capitalize on consumer interest by selling the TV episode DVDs, currently available from Bandai. The DVD of the movie will probably be released next summer, around the time of Anime Expo.
