The Cartoon Network has ordered twenty additional episodes of the cartoon series based on Aaron McGruder's The Boondocks comic strip.  So far ten of the 15 episodes from the first season of The Boondocks have aired on the Cartoon Network.  The first episode for the second season should air sometime in late 2006.  The Boondocks cartoon series is produced by McGruder and Reginald Hudlin, who is the chief programmer for the BET network and also writes the Black Panther for Marvel.

The appearance of The Boondocks cartoon has already resulted in an increase in bookstore sales of The Boondocks trade paperback collections such as Public Enemy #2, which was released last April.
