Last year BCI, which like FUNimation is a division of the Navarre Corporation, decided to debut its He-Man DVD series at the San Diego Comic-Con with a 'Best-Of' collection of top episodes from the 1980s cartoon series.  Aided by their Comic-Con send-off BCI's He-Man DVDs have done well and the company is hoping that DVDs featuring the masculine mesomorph's shapely twin sister She-Ra will benefit from similar exposure.  The She-Ra Best-Of DVD debuting at San Diego will include five fan-picked favorite episodes plus the 1985 feature, The Secret of the Sword, which condensed the first five episodes of the TV series into a single narrative chronicling the super-heroine's origin.

After the release of the Best-Of compilation BCI is planning three chronological releases over the next 12 months, which will include all 93 episodes of the cartoon series.  Though She-Ra never sold as many action figures and toys as He-Man, BCI is hoping the She-Ra DVDs will do well with at least a portion of the He-Man fan base and also reach the potentially huge audience of females who grew up in the 1980s when She-Ra, Wonder Woman, and Jem were the top distaff role models for young girls.
