Ten years on, Pokemon is not the mega phenomenon it once was, but it does appear that it may well end up setting longevity records for a kids' pop culture property.  The Anime News Network is reporting that a new Pokemon anime series (the 10th), Pocket Monsters: Diamond & Pearl, will debut on TV Tokyo this fall.

Pokemon: Battle Frontier, the ninth Pokemon anime series will debut this fall on the Cartoon Network (see 'New Pokemon Series on Cartoon Network').  The Pokemon video games remain extremely popular, and the Pokemon CCG, which still does very well in the mass market, is ranked as the third most popular collectible card game in the latest issue of ICv2's Retailers Guide to Games.
