With all the comic book properties being optioned for movies, it's only fair that there is also traffic in the other direction such as Devil's Due Publishing's acquisition of the rights to create a comic book series based on the Chucky/Child's Play horror film franchise created by Don Mancini.  Devil's Due President Josh Blaylock, who already publishes Tim Seeley's cult horror hit HACK/SLASH, plans on publishing the first Chucky comic book in 2007.

The Chucky horror film franchise, which began with the release of Child's Play in 1988 and has lasted through five films, is based on a fascinating premise -- wounded serial killer Charles Lee Ray (a name based on Charles Manson, Lee Harvey Oswald, and James Earl Ray) seeks refuge in a toy store and uses voodoo to transfer his evil soul into a doll.
