Atlas Games has announced plans to release two new stand-alone card games in its popular Gloom line: Fairy Tale Gloom and Munchkin Gloom.
Fairy Tale Gloom turns up the torment and misery on well known fairy tales with a slew of modifiers and misfortunes. The game can be played by itself, or added to any previous Gloom release. It is planned for May release at $24.95 MSRP.
Plans for Munchkin Gloom were announced last year (see "'Munchkin Gloom'”), and now the mash-up of Steve Jackson Games’ bestselling world of Munchkin is combined with the morbid anguish of Gloom. Players must navigate dark dungeons, fetid fields, and terrible taverns with sad suds. The game Munchkin Gloom is self-contained, but is compatible with Gloom, Cthulhu Gloom, Fairy Tale Gloom and their expansions. It’s planned for August release. MSRP has not been announced.
Gloom released a new edition last year (see "'Gloom 2E'") and was a major recipient of the "TableTop Bump” after it was featured on Season 1 of the show (see "'Gloom' Sales Booming" and "The 'TableTop' Bump").
