As we get closer to the April 12 kick-off of Season 5 of Game of Thrones, there’s more news around the property.
Dark Horse Deluxe will release a new large-scale Game of Thrones statue, Daenerys & Drogon, this summer. The pre-painted statue depicting Daenerys Targaryen and her dragon Drogon will measure 14" across and 18"’ from front to back, and be packaged in an oversize collector box.
MSRP for the limited edition release (edition size to be determined) will be $424.99.
Previous large-scale Game of Thrones statues from Dark Horse, including the 14” Iron Throne replica and the Jon Snow & Ghost statue, were quick sell-outs, Dark Horse product development head David Scroggy said. The prototype will be displayed at Toy Fair.
And from the world of unprecedented theatrical releases, the premiere of the IMAX release of the last two episodes of Season 4 and a trailer for Season 5 (see "'Game of Thrones' in IMAX Theaters") is being pushed back one week to allow for more theaters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The number of IMAX screens has grown to nearly 200 with the new dates, running from January 29th to February 5.
