DC has announced a new summer slate of titles and new creative teams for ongoing series including work by Gene Luen Yang, Bryan Hitch, Garth Ennis and Ming Doyle.   The announcement also revealed that the company’s Free Comic Book Day offering will include previews of three of the upcoming series.

The slate of 24 new series which begin at #1 and 25 on-going fan favorites (with no break in numbering) will begin launching on June 3.  Additional new titles will debut throughout the year. DC stated that the goal of this slate is to be “more inclusive and accessible to a wider group of readers.” The new titles will include reinventions of key charters including Black Canary, Bizarro, Cyborg and Starfire “with a new contemporary tonality.”

For the ongoing books, Gene Luen Yang will join John Romita Jr. on Superman, Bryan Hitch will write and draw Justice League of America, Garth Ennis and John McCrea will partner on the Section Eight miniseries featuring charters from their popular Hitman comic, and Ming Doyle will pen Constantine: The Hellblazer with artist Riley Rossmo.  Additionally, Brenden Fletcher (Batgirl) will write the new Black Canary, and  Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti will partner on both Starfire and Harley Quinn/Power Girl (they'll continue partnering on Harley Quinn).

DC will debut some offbeat and humorous titles, including Bizarro, Bat-Mite, and Prez.

The announcement also revealed the “Top Secret” FCBD offering, DC Comics: Divergence.  The book will contain three 8-page previews of the Scott Snyder/Greg Capullo Batman, the Geoff Johns/Jason Fabok Justice League Darkseid War, and Gen Luen Yang/John Romita, Jr. Superman.
