Monolith Board Games LLC's epic miniatures-based board game Conan has cut a bloody swath through ICv2's Top Ten Tabletop Game Kickstarter chart to become the new #2.  This is the first change to the chart since August 2014 (see "Top 10 Tabletop Game Kickstarters").

The Conan Kickstarter finished strong, jumping from $2.5 million and 13,000 backers yesterday (see "'Conan' Board Game") to $3,327,757 with 16,038 backers ($207.49/backer average).  This makes it the most successful board game on Kickstarter, although not the biggest tabletop game Kickstarter.

Conan's placement on the chart means Flying Frog Productions' Shadows of Brimstone game has been bumped from #10, raising the bar $62,676 to $1.4 million to even crack the chart.  Matt Forbeck's analysis of ICv2's first chart in 2013 has held true, the most successful tabletop campaigns capitalize on the economies of scale of plastic miniatures (see "Top Ten Tabletop Kickstarters: How They Do It").  However, a new contender is creeping up on silent paws, poised to blow the entire chart out of the water, but that record-breaking campaign still has eight days to go (see "Exploding Kittens").
