TV veteran Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) has been cast for the pilot as a series regular in the upcoming CBS series Supergirl.  She’ll play Cat Grant, a former reporter who’s founded CatCo, where Kara Zor-el is her assistant and Jimmy Olsen is a photographer.

Mellisa Benoist (Whiplash) is playing Supergirl, and love interest Jimmy Olsen will be played by Mehcad Brooks (see "Jimmy Olsen Cast in 'Supergirl'").
