Seven Seas Entertainment has announced a new division, Seven Seas Games, which will produce board and card games.
Seven Seas is a manga publisher whose most popular titles include the various Alice in the Country of Hearts-related releases, Monster Musume, and A Certain Scientific Railgun, which all appear on the Summer 2014 best-selling manga franchise chart (see "Top 25 Manga Franchises--Summer 2014"). Dance in the Vampire Bund has also proved to be a long-standing best seller (see "Top 25 Manga Properties--Fall/Holidays 2013").
Seven Seas plans to offer a wide variety of games based on both popular anime properties and original intellectual property. The releases will include deck-building card games, strategic board games and miniature figure board games. The first releases will arrive in late 2015.
The first game will be announced tomorrow, with Seven Seas teasing it is based on a hit anime property, and production will be funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Additional titles based on other anime are scheduled to be announced in the coming months.
