The campaign raised a total of $1,546,269 from 8,396 backers ($184.17/backer average). The property celebrated its 30th Anniversary last fall with a theatrical re-release (see "Trailer for Remastered 'Ghostbusters''"), and its profile was further boosted by the recent announcement of plans for a second new Ghostbusters movie (see "'Ghostbusters' for the Boys").
Cryptozoic’s Marketing Coordinator Sara Miguel told ICv2 that the wildly successful campaign has allowed the company to upgrade several components that will be present in the retail release edition: the Stay Puft miniature will be 100mm instead of 50mm, the Ecto-1 will now be a miniature instead of a token, an additional "Spirit World" tile will be used to represent Ghosts who are in the Spirit World, and an additional Ecto-1 tiles will be used to denote whether or not the Ghostbusters are in the car or not. The company confirmed plans to release the game to trade in October, after backer fulfillment.
Ghostbusters has replaced Palladium’s Robotech RPG Tactics in the number 10 spot (see "Top 10 Tabletop Game Kickstarters"), raising the bar another $103,957 for inclusion.
