Dynamite Entertainment has signed a deal with the Web-comedy duo Smosh (Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox) for the creation of a line of Smosh comics and graphic novels.

Smosh is definitely an Internet sensation.  The duo first hit the bigtime with a video showing them lip-synching to the theme song for The Pokemon anime that was viewed 24.7 million times in 2005.   Building on that momentum the duo has made Smosh channel into a perennial YouTube powerhouse that currently has more than 20 million subscribers and more than 4.3 billion video views.  The Smosh channel has been the most subscribed YouTube channel during three different periods (in 2006, 2007-2008, and 2013).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Padilla and Hecox will be developing new characters and storylines for the comics as well as adapting old ones for the comic book medium.  The first Dynamite Smosh comic is due out at the end of the year.
