American Family Association “project” One Million Moms has started a petition to Fox Network CEO Peter Rice, urging him to cancel the network’s plans to air Lucifer, the new Peter Bruckheimer series based on DC’s Vertigo comic. The show has a series order for 2016 (see "First Trailer for Bruckheimer's 'Lucifer'").
The petition lists the organization’s objections to the show. "The program previews mischaracterize Satan, departs from true biblical teachings about him, and inaccurately portrays the beliefs of the Christian faith," it argues. "By choosing to air this show, FOX is disrespecting Christianity and mocking the Bible."
One Million Moms is apparently moving on from its pre-occupation with gay characters in pop culture. It unsuccessfully targeted Marvel and DC (see "New Moms Attack") and Archie (see "'Moms' Attack Archie") in 2012 over their inclusion of gay characters in comics.
