With the departure of DC Comics from New York for sunnier climes in Burbank, California (see "Half of DC's Employees Made the Move to Burbank"), there were only two top ten comic publishers (Marvel and Valiant) in New York City, the birthplace of comics in the U.S. Now there are three (again); Dynamite Entertainment has announced that it will open a New York City office in the Flatiron District at 27th St. and 5th Avenue.
"This is a huge step for Dynamite, opening a new office and expanding our operations," Dynamite CEO and Publisher Nick Barrucci said. "We’re now closer to our partners and closer to the creative community."
The new office will initially be staffed with current Dynamite team members local to the city, with plans for additional hires for the new location. The company will also continue to maintain offices in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.
