Knapsack Games, the publishing outlet for game designer Andrew Federspiel, will co-publish its games with Renegade Games, Renegade announced Thursday. The first two games will be Knee Jerk: The Party Game of Instant Reactions, which will be released in August, and Apotheca: The Secret Potion Society, which is planned for Summer 2016. Both were successful Kickstarter projects. Apotheca was funded at $112,651 from 2,603 backers. Knee Jerk was funded at $14,277 from 690 backers.
"Andrew is an innovative designer with fresh ideas, and we couldn’t be more pleased to be working with him," Renegade President Scott Gaeta said of the deal.
In Knee Jerk ($11.99 MSRP), points are awarded for the first player to shout their knee-jerk reactions to funny situations. It’s a 10-minute party game for 4-8 players.
In Apotheca, players are apprentices trying to make potions by hiding ingredients in the marketplace, revealing secrets to collect precious gems, and recruiting powerful apothecaries to do their bidding.
