Sigourney Weaver will appear in the new Ghostbusters film, director Paul Feig announced today.
“Gang, trying to keep surprises but this is about to leak, so I'll tell you myself: the awesome Sigourney Weaver is going to be in our movie!” Feig Tweeted. Weaver played a professional musician Dana Barrett in the original film, and appeared in the sequel as well. Weaver will join the three surviving original Ghostbusters (see “Third Original Ghostbuster Joins New Film”) as well as the Ghostbusters’ original secretary Annie Potts (who has a cameo) in the franchise reboot.
The movie opens in theaters on July 22, 2016.
