THR is reporting that FX is developing an ongoing TV series with Vaughan, and Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of the Color Force production company. The project is currently seeking a writer to work with Vaughan on series development.
The critically acclaimed and best-selling Vertigo series was written by Vaughan, with art by Pia Guerra. New Line acquired the film rights to the series in 2007 (see “Writer & Director Named for 'Y'”), but that version fell apart. Another attempt was made to jump-start the project in 2012 (see “'Y: The Last Man' Gets Director”), but Vaughan himself pulled the plug, since on movie wasn’t in production by the time rights reverted to him last September (see “'Y: The Last Man' Rights Reverting Soon (If No Movie)”).
