Pinnacle announced plans to release a new version of  the game in honor of its 10th Anniversary at Gen Con (see “Pinnacle Announces Three Comic Book RPG Adaptations”). The new edition will move the Victorian steampunk timeline forward so that fans of the original game will experience something completely new.

In the Rippers’ world, players are monster-hunters, taking on werewolves, vampires and other horrors that prey on humanity.  The Rippers employ both the latest technology and holy or magical rites.  Some even use bioengineering to “rip” powers and abilities from the creatures they hunt, but potentially run the risk of becoming the evil things they fight.

The softcover, graphic novel -sized Savage Worlds: Rippers Resurrected Player’s Guide is $19.99. A limited-edition hardcover version is $24.99. The softcover GM Handbook has MSRP $19.99, and the limited-edition hardcover is $24.99. Additional offerings include a hardcover Rippers Resurrected GM Screen which includes an adventure ($19.99), several Combat Maps ($14.99/each), and a Lost Library of Rippers original Adventures ($19.99).

The abbreviated 16 day Kickstarter campaign has raised almost $60,000 from nearly 700 backers as of this writing, well past its $5,000 goal.  The campaign will run through October 22. The campaign includes a $150.00 retailer level, which includes multiple copies of the softcover Players Guide and GM Handbook; multiple copies of the limited-edition Players Guide and GM Handbook; copies of the GM Screen,  and copies of the two combat maps. Retail backers will receive their rewards ahead of general release.  Backer fulfillment is planned for April, with trade release to follow.
