Marvel TV has hired Scott Buck as showrunner for its upcoming Netflix series Iron Fist, according to Variety. Scott Buck’s background as a writer and producer for critically acclaimed TV series, including two very dark series for pay TV, makes him a great fit for the job.
Buck was showrunner for four seasons of Showtime’s Dexter, the story of a serial killer, with credits as executive producer for 60 episodes and writer for 18.
And Buck was also supervising producer for 19 episodes and co-executive producer for 16 episodes of the HBO series Six Feet Under, the story of two brothers who run a funeral home. Buck also wrote seven episodes.
Iron Fist is the series that’s been least visible in the Netflix Marvel sub-universe (see "Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage Netflix Series"). The first two series have been released, and Luke Cage, the primary character in the third series, played a prominent role in Jessica Jones.
