Star Wars: The Force Awakens didn’t offer much screen time for Resistance pilot Poe Dameron’s story to be told, but now Marvel will release a new ongoing comic series starring the character.
Launching in April, the series will be written by Charles Soule (Death of Wolverine, Read Lanterns, Star Wars: Lando), with art by Phil Noto (Black Widow, Star Wars: Chewbacca).
According to USA Today, the comic will first focus on the lead-up to the opening scene in The Force Awakens, where Poe is searching for Lor San Tekka on Jakku to obtain a key to locating the missing Luke Skywalker. The series will also delve into Dameron’s history with the Resistance and his well-known status as the galaxy’s greatest pilot.
