McFarlane Toys has obtained a license to produce construction sets based on the hit mobile game series Five Nights at Freddy’s in a deal with game maker Scott Cawthon’s Scottgames, brokered by Scottgames licensing agent Striker Entertainment.
With sales driven by videos of YouTube stars displaying their terrified reactions while playing the game, the four apps are all in the Top 100 Paid Apps lists for mobile devices.
One of the first construction sets, which will begin launching next summer, will depict Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, with the game’s main characters, Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy available as buildable and collectible mini-figures. McFarlane Toys CEO Todd McFarlane described the aesthetic. "We’ve struck the perfect balance," he said. "The mini figures for the Five Nights sets are equal parts cute and creepy."
