Greater Than Games will release a Cthulhu Mythos-themed card game called Fate of the Elder Gods later this year.

Fate of the Elder Gods was created by Richard Launius (Arkahm Horror, Elder Sign), Darrell Louder (Compounded), and Chris Kirkman (Carnival:  The Sideshow).  In the game, each player is the leader of a Mythos cult, trying to summon their Elder God before the others can.  Using their hand of spell cards, they try to gather the artifacts and symbols their Elder God needs to emerge into our world.  At the same time, the cults must be careful to keep a low profile and avoid the attention of the Investigators operating around Arkham.

The game includes eight different Elder Gods for the players to summon, each with their own unique Dark Gifts that players can use to aid their efforts.  The game features artwork by Nolan Nasser (New Bedford) and Jorge Ramos (Spirit Island), and will include a Cthulhu statue sculpted by Chad Hoverter (Mice & Mystics).

To fund the project, Greater Than Games will launch a Kickstarter campaign starting on July 19.  Greater Than Games will be launching a separate campaign to fund its other summer project Exoplanets on June 9 (see “Greater Than Games Acquires ‘Exoplanets’”).
