Marvel will launch The Clone Conspiracy, a five-issue miniseries starring Spider-Man, in October.  The creative team is Dan Slott (who wrote Spider-Verse, Superior Spider-Man and Spider-Island), and artist Jim Cheung.

In the story, The Jackal has offered a group of fellow villains, including the Rhino, the Lizard, Electro, and Doctor Octopus a chance to reunite with loved ones in exchange for their participation in his scheme.  Another character from Spider-Man’s past is also promised.

A prologue to this series appeared in Marvel’s Captain America Free Comic Book Day offering.
