Modiphius Entertainment will release Genlab Alpha, a stand-alone supplement for its post-apocalyptic role-playing game Mutant: Year Zero in August.

As the world was destroyed in an apocalypse, human scientists working in underground labs attempted to create human-animal hybrids that would be able to survive in the surface world.  Over time, these enclaves fell apart, but not before the scientists succeeded in their goal.  Now those animals struggle to escape from “Paradise Valley,” where they were created and are still help captive by the “Watchers” that dwell in an underground facility.

Genlab Alpha is a 240-page full-color hardcover book with complete rules, roles, skills, and powers for mutant animal hybrids.  All of the rules needed to play the game are included, or it can be combined with other Mutant: Year Zero titles as an expansion.  The book is MSRP $51.99, and includes a pdf copy.

Two add-on items are also being released along with the book:  The Mutant  Genlab Alpha Card Deck includes 56 cards describing animal powers, artifacts, and mutations, MSRP $17.99, while the Mutant: Genlab Alpha Map depicts Paradise Valley in a poster format, MSRP $14.99.
