AMC has renewed its new Preacher series for a second season, the network announced. The new series based on the Vertigo graphic novels by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, is now five episodes into its first season, which will run ten episodes. The second season has been extended to thirteen episodes, according to the announcement.
AMC is happy with the ratings so far: the series is the #2 new series on cable this year among adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, and is currently averaging 3.3 million viewers per episode in live+3 ratings, including 1.9 million adults 25-54.
