Upper Deck recently posted an article about how Matt Cave, owner of BatCave Games in Vancouver, WA, recently became a “Bystander” card in its Legendary: A Marvel Deck Building Game.

Cave, who is an avid fan of Legendary, has followed the game since its initial release. In the release of the Marvel 3D trading card set, there were several Legendary cards intermixed, so Cave bought two sets to put together sets of the new “Heroes” and “Bystanders.” He found out there was a promotion available for a redemption card that would put a player in the game. He immediately bought a case to find one.

One he found and redeemed the card, Cave worked with Upper Deck’s entertainment product development team to create his own “Bystander” card.  Upper Deck used images submitted by Cave, along with a list of his favorite Marvel characters, to create a new card which is playable in the game: the Legendary: Civil War “Comic Store Owner Bystander” card.

“I’m grinning from ear to ear over here,” Cave said after seeing his card for the first time. “This is the coolest thing ever!”
