This expansion includes cards from the Japanese language Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Booster Packs and the Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2 wei Booster Packs.  The cards are based on the manga and anime series about an alternate-universe version of the long running Fate/stay night series.  Since this expansion is based on this alternate universe, these cards are not Neo-standard with other Fate series sets.

There will be 86 different cards available in the eight-card Booster Packs, including seven exclusive SP Gold Foil/Hot Stamp cards signed by Japanese voice actors Mai Kadowaki (Illyasviel von Einzbern), Naori Nazuka (Miyu Edelfelt), Chiwa Saito (Chloe von Einzbern), Kana Ueda (Rin Tohsaka), and Shizuka Itoh (Luviagelita Edelfelt).  These cards will be randomly inserted in some packs.  Packs are sold 20 to a display.

The English language version of the new expansion does not include the gold or silver campaign coupons from the Japanese Edition.  They may only be used in tournaments held outside of Japan.  Some of the parallel foil cards from the Japanese edition will not ben included in the English version, and the rarities of some cards have been changed, but the card abilities are the same as the Japanese versions.

The Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya DX expansion follows the Kancolle Extra Booster, releasing on September 16 (see “New ‘Extra Booster’ for ‘Weiss Schwarz:  Kancolle’).
