At Gen Con, ICv2 stopped by the booth of Cubicle 7 Entertainment to talk to CEO Dominic McDowall about the company’s plans for its new range of setting supplements for Middle-earth gaming using the OGL.

Cubicle 7 and Sophisticated Games have had success with their The One Ring Middle-earth Roleplaying Game (see “New Edition of 'The One Ring' RPG”). They announced plans to bringing J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth to Dungeons & Dragons in March (see “Tolkien's Middle-earth Comes to 'D&D' Via OGL”). At Gen Con they were previewing the first release Adventures in Middle-earth Player’s Guide. Trade release is planned for autumn.

‘We’ll have the Loremaster’s Guide following hot on its heels, loads of advice on running games in Middle-earth, and some extra rulesy stuff and bits and pieces,” McDowall said.  “Then we’ll have the adventures, we’ll have the Tales of Wilderland compilation which is a seven-part campaign that you can play as stand-alone scenarios or play through the whole thing. For people who are familiar with our One Ring roleplaying game, the content that we wrote for that will be converted for the OGL and that will all be coming out over the coming months. “
