Creator Rob Liefeld has announced the return of Youngblood from Image Comics.
Liefeld made the announcement on the Nerdy Pop video podcast. Chad Bowers (X-Men ’92, Deadpool) will co-write, and art will be done by newcomer Jim Towe, who sent redesign concept sketches to Liefeld via Twitter. The new team will include Shaft, Badrock, Suprema, Doc Rocket, Vogue and Sentinel.
Youngblood debuted as a backup feature in 1987, and started its ongoing series in 1992 as a flagship publication of the newly launched Image Comics. It quickly reached the million-selling mark, though sales fizzled out due to repeated delays. The comic will return in April 2017, coinciding with Image’s 25th Anniversary. Image currently has a policy that a title must have 90 pages (3 months worth) of material turned in before they will solicit.
