There have been several recent announcements about geek TV productions, and we round them up here.

Marvel has announced more characters who will be reprising their roles for the upcoming Netflix limited series The Defenders. On the show’s Twitter account Marvel announced Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) from Iron Fist, Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor) from Jessica Jones, Stick (Scott Glenn) from Daredevil, and Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) from all the Marvel Netflix series. Marvel already announced Karen Page and Misty Knight will be returning (see "'The Defenders' Confirms Two Returning Characters").

The Walking Dead Season 7 premiere raked in an additional 3.8 million people when the L+3 Ratings were totaled, bringing the total to 20.8 million viewers (see "'The Walking Dead' Season Premiere Draws Huge Ratings"), Variety reported.  That included a 10.3 rating in the 18 – 49 demographic and a 10.8 in the 25 – 54 demographic, which is where AMC promises high viewership to its advertisers.  The 90-minute Talking Dead episode that followed netted an additional 1.1 million viewers when the Live +3 days ratings were totaled.  That brought the Talking Dead total up to 8.7 million viewers.

Disney announced it will premiere its new Muppet Babies series on Disney Junior in early 2018, Deadline is reporting. The new mixed animation style series is geared towards kids 4 – 7, with each half-hour episode featuring two 11-minute stories. Tom Warburton (The 7D) will executive produce, and Emmy Award-winner Eric Shaw (SpongeBob SquarePants) will serve as story editor.

Fox’s Vertigo Comics-based series Lucifer  has been given a full Season 2 order, Deadline is reporting. The sophomore drama had initially been given a 13-episode pick-up, which made sense because it had premiered midseason (see "First Trailer for Bruckheimer's 'Lucifer'").  The show is averaging 8 million multi-platform viewers this season.  "The show has turned out to be a true wicked pleasure, the perfect companion to Gotham, and we couldn’t be more pleased to order these nine additional episodes," said Fox Entertainment president David Madden.
