The Japanese character posters were posted by MovieWeb, and feature Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones), Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), droid K-2SO (Alan Tudyk), Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed), Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) and Baze Malbus (Wen Jiang). There is also a promotional poster advertising Dolby Cinema. (See gallery below.)
Another clever advertising ploy involves a team-up with Verizon, which presented an immersive 360 degree video called "Rogue One: Recon" where the viewer has the pilot’s view inside the cockpit of an X-Wing fighter doing recon on the Empire’s movements in the system (be sure to clock the R4 unit on your 6). There is a key scene where they stumble onto the Death Star for the first time, and the message relayed back to Yavin of the discovery. The pilot is notified that Mon Mothma has been informed.

The film opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.
