DC Comics shared an exclusive first look at Superman’s new costume with ComicBook.com.  The Man of Steel is set to debut his new look in Patrick Gleason’s cover for Superman #20, which is written by Peter J. Tomasi and drawn by Gleason and out April 5.

Just a week later, Superman’s new duds will also appear in Dan Jurgens and Ian Churchill’s Action Comics #977, which sports a cover by Andy Kubert.

The stories are part of April’s “Superman Reborn Aftermath,” which finds Superman trying to discover who tried to destroy his life during the events of March’s “Superman Reborn” initiative.

The current iteration of Superman is the pre-Flashpoint version, who emerged from hiding to take Kal-el’s place after the New 52 version of the character died (see “Confessions of a Comic Book Guy--Revamp, Reveal, Repeat (As Needed)”). The new costume resembles that donned by Superman during Rebirth. Significant differences include a brighter palette and the return of Superman’s signature red boots. The red trunks aren’t returning (yet).
