At this week’s Toy Fair in New York, Asmodee’s Z-Man Games division was previewing two new titles scheduled to release later this year:  Bruno Faidutti’s Junggle* and  Bastion, produced in cooperation with Russian publisher Hobby World.

[Ed. note: Asmodee has informed ICv2 that the game's name is Junggle, not Go on Safari! as previously stated.]

Junggle*  is a fast-paced family game with simultaneous play.  The box includes five different variations, which involve real-time observation skills.  Players need to identify which animals are frightened by the other animals in play at the time, and find the largest animal which won’t be frightened away.

This game is intended for 2 to 10 players, ages 7 and up, and plays in 20 minutes or less.  Junggle  will release in the third quarter with an MSRP of $12.99.

Bastion is a boardgame inspired by the tower defense genre of computer games.  In this cooperative game by Evgeny Nikitin (Moscow to Paris) and Nikolay Pegasov (Hollywood, World of Tanks:  Rush), the players are the last heroes defending a castle besieged by hordes of monsters.  Each turn, the monsters creep closer, as the heroes use the castle’s defenses to destroy them.  Destroying monsters grants powerful spells that bolster the defenders.

This game is designed for 1 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about an hour.  MSRP is $49.99.

Z-Man was also previewing the follow up to Pandemic Legacy at Toy Fair (see “‘Pandemic Legacy – Season 2’ Revealed”).
