Fantasy author Terry Pratchett, creator of the Discworld series, was knighted in the New Year Honours List released on New Year’s Eve.  Pratchett described himself as "...delighted and honored and, needless to say, flabbergasted."

Pratchett’s works have sold over 55 million copies worldwide.  They’ve also been adapted into graphic novels (a hardcover edition collecting adaptations of the first two Discworld books was released by Doubleday earlier this year), RPGs (Steve Jackson Games’ GURPS Discworld), films, TV series, and videogames.
