Sony Animation has released an "animation test" for Genndy Tartakovsky’s Popeye, showing the CGI style he plans to use for the feature. Tartakovsky (Hotel Transylvania) was first associated with the movie in 2012 (see "Sony Hires 'Samurai Jack' Creator for 'Popeye' Feature"), but now appears to be getting down to work.
The test footage will not appear in the movie, Tartakovsky said in his introduction, which runs about two minutes. The animation test starts at 2:00.
