The hugely popular deck-building card game Dominion continues to grow, with two additional expansions, an electronic version, and a set of replacement cards all planned by publisher Rio Grande Games.  A World Masters Tournament is also scheduled for August.

The official electronic version of Dominion is expected early in 2012. It is expected to include full original artwork from the cards.

Dominion: Base Cards is a 250 card set that includes only the “basic” cards from the game, including Victory, Treasure, and Curse cards from the base game and all expansions.  All of the cards in this set will feature new graphics and complete artwork, and will be fully compatible with all Dominion sets and expansions.  Dominion: Base Cards is expected to release in March.

The only expansion scheduled to release this year is Dominion: Dark Ages.  This is a large, 500 card set, but will not be playable alone; a copy of the basic game or Dominion: Intrigue will be required.  Dark Ages is scheduled for a Gen Con release, to coincide with the World Masters Tournament.

The other currently planned expansion, Dominion: Guilds, has been pushed back to a Spring 2013 release.  Guilds will be a 150 card “small” expansion.  It also requires one of the base sets to play.

The Dominion World Masters Tournament will be held at Gen Con.  Rio Grande is working with their partners around the world to host regional tournaments and send the winners to the US for the finals.  Local conventions in the US have also been asked to sponsor feeder tournaments for the finals.  The regional feeder tournaments are expected to be held in June.
