WizKids Games has announced Wave 17 and 18 Expansion Pack releases for its popular Star Trek: Attack Wing miniatures game, as well as new Monthly Organized Play Kits for summer. Wave 17 will release in August, with Wave 18 following in September. Each wave will feature three new pre-painted miniatures for use in the game.
Wave 17 will include the U.S.S. Thunderchild (Federation), I.K.S. T'Ong (Klingon), and I.R.W. Vrax (Romulan).
Wave 18 features U.S.S. Phoenix (Federation), Bioship Beta (Species 8472), and Quark’s Treasure (Ferengi).
Each vessel from both waves will be sold separately, with a suggested retail price of $14.99. Each model comes with base, pegs, maneuver dial, cards, and tokens. See images for all six ships in the gallery below.
The new Monthly Organized Play Kits include the Year of Hell Monthly OP Kit for July and the Balance of Terror Monthly OP Kit for August. Each kit contains prizes to run the monthly event, including prizes for first place, a fellowship prize, and a judge reward, as well as participation prizes for up to 10 players.
These two waves of models follow Waves 15 and 16, expected in May and June (see "'Star Trek: Attack Wing Waves 15 &16'").
Star Trek: Attack Wing ranked as the fifth most popular non-collectible miniatures game for hobby channel releases on ICv2’s most recent chart (see "Top 5 Non-Collectible Miniature Games--Fall/Holiday 2014").
