DC and Hasbro have settled their suit over their characters named Bumblebee, according to Variety. Hasbro filed suit a year ago against DC Comics and Warner Bros. (see "Hasbro Sues DC"), alleging that Super Hero Girls action figures featuring the DC Comics character Bumblebee infringed on Hasbro’s mark for its Transformers character, specifically for the toy category. Terms for the settlement were not disclosed, so it’s unclear if Mattel will continue to sell Bumblebee figures as part of its Super Hero Girls range.
Paramount’s Bumblebee will premiere December 21, along with Aquaman and Alita: Battle Angel (see "’Transformers’ Spinoff ‘Bumblebee’ Drops Teaser Trailer").
