Mazaza Games will release Kavango, a tableau-building game, into retail on November 18, 2024.
This game was created by Matt Brown and Zara Reid while they were working on a conservation project in Botswana. In this game, players take on the roles of conservationists looking to re-wild a landscape in Africa. They will draft cards over the course of three rounds to build up a nature reserve tableau. Players will also need to complete research tasks as they build up their ecosystem to earn money to invest in wildlife protection for the endangered animals on the reserve. The player who builds the highest scoring nature reserve by the end of the game wins.
The game box features 160 species cards, 45 research cards, 10 conservation experts and 5 landscape boards. This game is for one to five players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 40-60 minutes.
