All three games acquired were Takahiro Shinozaki designs: Suzume-Jong, Kikkasai, and Yaochu. Shinozaki designed each of these games to teach concepts and strategy of mahjong, expanding the accessibility of the classic game. Kikkasai and Yaochu were acquired from Japon Brands, which was purchased by CMON in 2024 (see "Japon Brand "). This IP sale continues the ongoing CMON sell-off of IPs (see "Asmodee Snaps Up 'Zombicide'"). Suzume-Jong was purchased from Sugorokuya, a Japanese retailer and wholesale distributor with an integrated board game localization division.
This acquisition represents Mahjong Pros' further expansion into the board game space. The company had traditionally been a designer of tournament grade mahjong equipment, until 2025, when they expanded into mahjong manga and game IPs.
