The Entertainment Merchants Association's annual report indicates that mega-retailers Wal-Mart and Target dominated sales of DVDs, accounting for over 43% of the entire market. Consumer electronics chains (think Best Buy, Circuit City) are responsible for 16% of the total, while online retailers have upped their share to 12.5%. Other outlets including independent retailers, book stores, C-stores, grocery stores and discount chains account for the other 28% of sales.
