According to today's Hollywood Reporter, Dean Devlin (Independence Day, Eight Legged Freaks) plans to turn WizKids' MechWarrior property into a live action feature film. Devlin, who told the Reporter, 'I'm crazy about the material, this is a real passion project for me,' plans on the extensive use of computer graphics techniques in order to make the MechWarrior movie look like it cost $150 million to produce, while keeping the actual cost well under $100 million. Devlin used more than 200 computer-generated shots in Eight Legged Freaks and plans use even more for MechWarrior. No production plans or shooting dates were announced, so stay tuned for further developments.
